Wedding Wednesday: Video

Today it's show time! What do I mean? Video time! What i your opinion on wedding videos? I like them. Correction: I like them if they are well made, because if they are not they can be tacky and feel cheap. This one by Americana Cinema of a Greek wedding in Marrakech is one of my favourites. Perfect music accompaniment and a superb way to express and showcase the feelings and emotions.

The super cute video of Taylor's wedding is also a little gem! It's by Ashley Batz
Did you see the whole wedding featured on 100 Layer Cake yesterday?

I hope all of you in the East Coast are keeping safe and dry. Keep it up and be safe!

Olivia Lab & Soap Room {and Online Shop}

Keep safe everyone in the East Coast!
At the end of the summer, Paula, the mind and super talented behind the handmade soaps Olivia send me a Facebook message to ask if I had seen she was throwing an inauguration party for her soon to open brick and mortar shop in Segovia, Spain. I have blogged about Paula and her soaps several times, here, here and here and I was very excited to see that in the middle of a horrible economic crisis in Spain, Paula had decided to put faith, lots of work and talent to make her dreams come true. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to Segovia but lots of people did and the party was an incredible success. Her shop is what all of us who have dreamt of opening a store might have thought it would be. Pretty, romantic, welcoming and full of little treasures.

All photos are by the uber talented Jimena Roquero who was there to take pictures, create a super fun booth and obviously have a lot of fun.

Paula has also (finally!) opened her online store where you can buy all her goodies. Check out some of her beauties. I cant wait to get my hands on the new hand purred candles

Best of luck Paula, te lo mereces!!

Sunday Outfit

Happy Monday lovelies! Winter has come for good in London and here I am indoors warm and cozy. How are you keeping? I love this dress I bought on Friday at H&M. It has a lovely super easy shape and a fun pattern. Do you have a fave kid of dress? For me it has to be  shift dresses, they are very comfortable and have a feminine way to them.
Have a lovely week darlings, and thank you so very much for always being there supporting the blog!

Right, so reality check today. I had nothing to write about and I didn't have much time either to prepare. Mrs. inspiration decided to leave me today (and some other unfortunate days too c'mon!) so here I am empty handed. You will have to forgive me but sometimes it is not easy to post something every day. I know it sounds lame (lazy?) but all these years I have been blogging I have missed only a few days so I figured I can be a slacker today. Fellow bloggers, do tell, how do you deal with lack of inspiration/creativity?
Still, here is a perfect quote, enjoy the weekend and believe in you.

Ideal Closet

Every morning when I walk to work I walk by a Mango store. Until last week I kept seeing this gorgeous blue lace dress in the window and kept admiring it. It looked so pretty in the mannequin, fitted beautifully and perfect for a night out around town. Paired with a tuxedo jacket and gold accessories and this is a definite winner!

Wedding Wednesday: Faves

It's so easy to get carried away with so much wedding beauty there is out there. Gorgeous invitations, talented calligraphers, beautiful dresses, so many choices it can become overwhelming sometimes. Etsy is the obvious place to start and I love gathering all my faves from time to time.

I love these beautifully made table numbers. The black backdrop is a nice different detail.

this flower girl dress by Olivia Kate Couture is just perfect. I love the full skirt, the layers and layers of tulle and the incredible sweetheart bodice and lovely back. Can it get any better?

Oatmeal Lace can customise these clutches with any fabric you can dream of. These would obviously be great if you have bridesmaids but also really pretty for any bride to hold all the essentials needed.

Every bride needs the perfect little garter. Florrie Mitton is based in England and makes the best ones.

A wedding without calligraphy is not a wedding and if you are looking for a low cost option a personalised stamp is a good way to start. I'm a massive fan of Trial by Cupcakes

While I would chose a more traditional invitation, this one is incredibly fun and very pretty. Your guest will know they are in for a treat.

Monogramming your sleep

My mom told me the other day she was going to buy some nice pillow cases and have them monogrammed for N and I. She couldn't be sweeter! there are so many beautiful examples out there. I love this first one, the black scallop detail and the border monogram are nice and unexpected details. What kind of font would you sue to monogram your pillows?

And finally Bailey's two master bedrooms, she is definitely the bedding monogram queen!

Sunday Outfit

This weekend we celebrated my fiancĂ©'s  birthday and we had a lovely time with friends at home. We ate the most amazing cake from the Hummingbird Bakery *red velvet* YUM and N cooked the most delicious food. I love celebrating at home, especially when its cold outside and cosy inside.
I got the strap of my lovely Gigi bag fixed and I can now happily wear it again across my body. Don't you love it that you can monogram it?

Spring cleaning

We ladies, tend to buy too much stuff. Do you agree? Pair that with limited space in London and that means spring cleaning in October! I have opened a small store where I have listed some of the stuff I don't need anymore (some of the stuff below). Most things are new or hardly worn at great prices. Check it out you might find something you like. I will ship worldwide happily. I will be listing new stuff often so do check back. Happy shopping!

some of the stuff: Blue glitter ballerinas - Paul & Joe flat sandals - White classic Superga plimsolls/trainers

Ideal Closet

Oh my, this definitely is a statement bag. Hard to miss! The Bayswater is a classic bag, holds are your essentials easily, looks goof on your arm, and can be worn all day long. I have the tan one and absolutely adore it, I was (very!) lucky to find it on sale so I snatched it no moment. This orange version is just as pretty, maybe a bit less functional but wear it with an all black outfit and that's it, fashion statement guaranteed. And how cute is the bow sweater? Oh these French brands know how to spoil us!

Wedding Wednesday: To Veil or not to Veil

For the married ladies out there, were you a veil bride or a veil-not bride? I always thought I would be a veil-less (!) bride but I have been drawn to like and admire many brides with veils. If the dress was a simple one, my veil would have to be an antique piece, the one on photo 3 has been a fave of mine for a while. If the dress was more intricate then I would go for a simple yet striking veil.

Coat season!

Coat season is upon us and many will be faced with a decision, which coat to go for? I wont be buying four different coast this season but if I was these would be my four choices. A funky yet classy "different" black coat. Half leather biker half coat, gives an edge and ads rock n' roll to any dull outfit. A puffer, any neutral color. Slim fit to avoid being the lovely Michelin. I think the trick here is to find the right shape and length. A waxed Barbour. I regret a bit buying the quilted one instead of the waxed one. It's a safe bet and perfect to channel your inner (or not?) Brit. And finally the perfect cocoon coat. Very in season and if it's camel then all the better! Which of these coats (if any) would you go for?

Hello lovelies! How did you enjoy the weekend? We had a lovely relaxing weekend and a great night out on Saturday and lots of energy to face the week ahead. The weekend

Aaah and its finally Friday, lovely lovely day of the week, right? This has been a long, and intense week and I'm very much looking forward for a easy going, very relaxing weekend. I saw this bath and this is the kind of place I would like to enjoy some me time. Lovely subway tile, fabulous luxe rug and a beautiful window with greenery outside, a small dream?

Ideal Closet

I have been wanting to do an Ideal Closet post with a pair of New Balance trainers for a while. I know they don't necessarily come in mind when you think about a stylish outfit, but look at this one. Smart jeans, crisp white shirt, nice sweater and super bag get completed by these classic trainers. what do you think? Would you go for such look?

Wedding Wednesday: Maria and Marc

Today I have a little treat for you. It's not every day that I can share a wedding of someone I know so I'm very excited about it. Maria is my best friend's cousin in Barcelona and I was very happy to learn she was getting married to her long term boyfriend. Maria is super stylish so I knew her wedding would be a reflection of her bubbly personality and super style. And it didn't disappoint. All photos are by Natalia Cedres

Maria and Marc got married last June at l'Ermita de Sant Elm in Sant Feliu de Guixols in Catalonia. A breathtaking location. maria looked incredibly gorgeous in a Cortana dress and a veil from l'Arca de l'Avia in Barcelona, a true institution if you are looking for antique veils, and other beauties. it's also where most of the Titanic costumes where found.

The incredible Church. The whole wedding was full of little details, like parasols to help their guest stay cool under the afternoon sun. The couple left in super style. Maria's family has owned this Citroen Mehari for as long as I can remember them (and I'm sure long before that too!). It was beautifully decorated with Twenty Violets straw baskets and baby wreath. SWOON!

The dinner was served at the Hotel Castell d’EmpordĂ , a very special place. Salvador Dali, the great artist, fell in love with this medieval castle and wanted to buy it back in time. He failed and now the castle is a lovely luxury boutique hotel where they also celebrate weddings. My favourite parts? Their flower arrangements and centrepieces by Bao Bap
where white and green hydrangeas mixed with other blooms. The chairs, look at those chairs, so not our typical wedding seating! and the super cute  wedding favours, custom made bracelets by Twenty Violets

How yummy does that look?
In Catalonia (and in the rest of Spain) the tradition is that the bride gives her bouquet to a loved female person. Maria gave it to Eli, her cousin and my lovely best friend. How pretty is this picture of them together?
