I have never showed you were I live. We live in an apartment in the middle of the City, which is... a bit like living in the middle of... I don't know Wall Street, more or less, it's the financial district in London, where banks and major corporations are. It's handy because nor me or my boyfriend have to commute very long. It's a residential area in the middle of concrete, the Barbican was built between the end of the 1950's and the 1970's, some people hate it (concrete anyone?) some love it (because of the supposed design+the way the apartments were built). Anyway, among all those blocks of apartments there are... gardens, and a lake, and flowers, very very well kept and only for residents. A small oasis in the middle of the City. I love it, it's central, love the way the apartment is set up and the amenities. Plus there is one of the biggest art centers in Europe. These are from these morning, glorious morning, gorgeous warm weather.
How is your weekend going so far?

ReplyDeleteOh, so gorgeous! I had always heard that the City was very sterile, clearly that is not the case! Love this post Helena, I love seeing more about my favorite bloggers!
ReplyDeleteAm unfamiliar with Barbican Gardens though I spent so many years in London, but I never ventured too far out of Chelsea. Charming building, the flowers are very pretty. Happy Saturday;-)

ReplyDeleteOh it's lovely Helena! I live in a residential area too in NYC. It sits back from the main streets of the city. My view is of downtown manhattan & looks upon a park and a playground where people play hockey. It's a really lovely area with parks and fountains and the like. Sounds like you live in a wonderful community as well. Thanks for sharing it with us sweetie!

I prefer living in the city as well, I find it very handy and close to the shops I like visiting. Some might have not like it and would prefer to live in a county, guess it'll all down to one's preference. Think I'm a city girl with all my heart :)
