Remember some time ago I told you about the Casa Decor in Madrid? This is the 2009 kitchen. Looks familiar? Yes, it's Ikea, I know some of you have a love-hate (or just hate) relationship with Ikea, but to be honest, I like them and I especially like their kitchens. 2009 was the first year Ikea participated in Casa Decor, they brought their best kitchen, scandi (of course) with lots of white and splashes of greys and reds. I think it's very functional, family centered and good looking too. So... love? no no? so so?

I'm not always crazy about IKEA, but I REALLY like this kitchen. It's perfect in every way and full of extras. The hardest thing about purchasing from IKEA is getting warranties from companies that are not well known or not in the States at all. Otherwise, I love to shop there.

I love I love I love!!
ReplyDeleteIkea can be great. not sure the quality of their stuff is up there but for someone who is young and doesn't have a ton of money and still wants to be in style--- it's my kind of place!! :)
this is definitely the IKEA Dream Kitchen!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to IKEA! I think it is such an interesting company though. There is one that is a bit of a drive, I'll have to check it out one of these days. xo
ReplyDeleteso well organized it seems...Loving the hanging plants!
ReplyDeleteI love that herb room! I have never seen one before. I must add that to my kitchen wishes. :)

look... the truth is.. i would be completely furnitureless without ikea! what else is a fresh from college first apt kid supposed to do? i love it and i love it more if that's all you can afford. it gives you room to make it your own!
ReplyDeleteI definitely have plenty of Ikea stuff in my house. I like this kitchen, but I think I'd like it more if those cabinet/drawer handles were replaced with something with more character. It's just that their stuff looks so stark and modern sometimes . . . but with a few tweaks, can be great. And functional. And affordable. Which is DEFINITELY important!
ReplyDeleteI like Ikea - I wouldn't buy a couch from them (they are SO uncomfortable) but I like some of their other stuff and their kitchens are pretty awesome looking.
ReplyDeleteOh yes I love it! What I would do for a kitchen like that.... :)
ReplyDeleteI think IKEA kitchens look great in pics but in person once you open the actual drawers they're quite flimsy. Also, IKEA is so popular in Europe, when I was living there everyone bought everything at IKEA & somehow they were able to make it all look amazing in their homes.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great!
ReplyDeleteWell, when you're Swedish, it is considered your patriotic duty to love IKEA...
ReplyDeleteSo obviously I really, really like this!! ;)
...I've also seen it in a tomatoey red (this was in a magazine, and I believe it was Liberty Ross' L.A kitchen). It looked fantastic.
I like it.:D Looks very clean and homey.:D
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week!:D

BEAUTY. FASHION. DESIGN.
...and everything girly under the sun!
This kitchen is so beautiful. I like it being mostly white. I don´t care where is it from as long as it is good and lasts. My kitchen is from Ikea too but it is not this pretty.

We are buying a new kitchen and you would not believe how much money you can spend on kitchens! The designer ones - Bulthaup, Poggenpohl - are outrageously expensive. I think Ikea has some good things, we buy a lot of children's stuff there, but otherwise I am forbidding any new Ikea furniture in our apartment (because everyone has them and I don't like that) and the ones we do have are being degraded to cellar/basement furniture. Therefore - no Ikea kitchen for us! We spend so much time in this 'room' that it's worth spending more - in my opinion.
ReplyDeletemost of my furniture is from Ikea -- i really love that megastore and the kitchen in these photos rock. :)
ReplyDeleteSÃ, yo estuve allÃ, y me acuerdo que en algunas exposiciones hacÃan una encuesta a ver que espacio te gustaba más y los niños elegÃan la cocina de Ikea jeje ¿por qué será? Bsos!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it ;) would probably exchange few black items for some lovely live ones but overall it looks clean and functional!
ReplyDeleteI love IKEA...and this kitchen is beautiful..:)
ReplyDeleteAs much as their quality is not the best...they have great selection and it is always fun to stroll around the shop :)
Have a sunny Tuesday :)

Me ha sorprendido mucho ver a IKEA en Casa Decor! Nunca lo hubiera dicho, y desde luego me lo habÃa perdido :(
ReplyDeleteEspero este año no perderme Casa Decor
I wouldn't say love, but definitely like. I think it can use an injection of warmth. It would have been great if they added a butcher block countertop to the island, perhaps. But I do LOVE that nook with the plants. Now that is genius!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very nice kitchen. Love the island.
ReplyDeletei think ikea is just like any other shop, cheap or expensive. anything can look great or awful depending on the quantity of style that pulls the look off.
ReplyDeletethat kitchen looks cool.
Merci pour cotre visite sur mon blog , Ã bientot!

Es fantastica!!! Si es que Ikea vale mucho!! Un saludo.
ReplyDeletewow, love all of that!
ReplyDeletefor their price point, Ikea is the best of the best for kitchens. It will never be custom, and its not very green, but its clean, efficient and easy to dress up!
ReplyDeleteLooks so organized! Inspires me to work on my own--someday :)
ReplyDeleteoh my, I'm so jealous... if only I could have my spices half as organized as this... wow!
ReplyDeleteHelena this kitchen is perfect. I love IKEA and this just reminds me why :) Happy Sunday beautiful! I am working on your questionnaire too! Yay!! XO
ReplyDeleteI love, love that spice drawer!
