Ideal Closet

I haven't done one of these posts in ages, about time!! I love putting outfits together. I love summer wear, it's easy, breezy and usually all together lovely. But it can also get tricky if it's very hot. In the big cities it is especially hard to look effortlessly chic and stay cool at the same time, you don't want to overdo it and show too much skin, it is never chic especially in work circumstances.
This outfit to me is the perfect middle point for a cool and chic outfit. It can be worn to pretty much any function, from work (if it is a more artsy environment) to a shopping trip, to a weekend with the parents or to visit your gran at a McCarthy and Stone development. You can also pick up a few fashion essentials that will please your gran, we all want to be fashionable no matter what age, right?
Some of my tips to stay cool and chic throughout the warm season are simple: pick your fabrics wisely, say no to polyester and synthetic fabrics, they don't allow you to perspire naturally and will make you feel uncomfortable. Pick your colours, it's the time of the year to be bold, wear colours and avoid black. Black attracts the sun and it will make you feel even warmer. Wear flats! what? to me it's a no brainer, while I do wear heels for summer special occasions (weddings, baptism, special night outs) summer is the time of the year to wear pretty sandals, go barefoot whenever you can, now is the time!
Add a big handbag it is also ideal for this time of the year, especially if you are running errands around town, I love to throw everything in and not having to worry about carrying all sorts of smaller shopping bags!
