This is a super traditional Greek dish. Greek burgers! Oven baked usually served with baked potatoes too. There are many recipes for these, some people use eggs inside the minced meat mixture, some others milk and there are even recipes of mixed meat (beaf and pork). I will share my home's recipe which I hope you like, this is a hearty meal that will leave you satisfied and should please most meat lovers.
(makes 6 burgers)
500 gr beef minced meat
1 slice stale bread soaked in water
1/2 cup milk
salt and pepper
5 medium potatoes, cut in large pieces
Preheat oven to 180ºC.
Squeeze the excess moisture from the bread and keep the soft part.
In a large bowl mix all your ingredients well. Let is rest for 10-15 minutes.
Using your hands, make large, flat burgers.
Sprinkle olive olive on an oven proof dish and place your burgers on it. Place the potatoes around the burgers. Sprinkle the potatoes with olive oil too, salt, pepper or oregano or alternatively bake the burgers alone and in a second dish bake the potatoes coated with lots of olive oil.
Bake for about 45 minutes.
