Wedding Wednesday: To Veil or not to Veil

For the married ladies out there, were you a veil bride or a veil-not bride? I always thought I would be a veil-less (!) bride but I have been drawn to like and admire many brides with veils. If the dress was a simple one, my veil would have to be an antique piece, the one on photo 3 has been a fave of mine for a while. If the dress was more intricate then I would go for a simple yet striking veil.

  1. Yes veil! Just for the ceremony. It totally finishes the "bride" package look, and it's stunning in photos. Then just take it off after the church!

  2. I went with a veil for the ceremony & beginning of reception. But yes totally depends on the dress.

  3. Wear a veil! I thought absolutely not when it was my wedding. And I didn't wear one. Just a simple flower. And I loved everything about my wedding, but looking back, I would have worn a veil for sure. My little sister is getting married next summer and she is already committed to a cathedral veil. When else will you wear one??? ;)

  4. I adore the veil in #6! I love a light, flowy one. I'm not married yet but think a veil is definitely a route I'd go.
    Isn’t That Charming.

  5. I just love the veil. I think it's so beautiful and adds a romantic innocence to the ceremony (doesn't matter what the background of the couple is.. it's just very pretty)

I did wear a veil and would wear one again. I think if a woman has been married before then it may be appropriate to tone down and simplify everything.

  14. I always figured I'd be a veil-less bride myself but then I tried one on and it was hook, line and sinker :) There's something so feminine and romantic and just timeless about a veil. I love the images you selected too, Helena!
