Let's Run, week 1

Well I promised I would keep you all updated on how the C25K running plan is going and here I am. Firstly, big thanks to all of you who last week encouraged me. Running is something very new to me and your support is very helpful.
The first week is now over and I ran the first day of the second week yesterday. Let me tell you, keeping up in the blog is part of the plan too for me and an extra way to keep me motivated and keep me going. So, I'm I loving it? Not necessarily, but I do feel good after running every session. Does it tire me? Definitely, but it doesn't last long and the feeling of having achieved something I would have never thought I would is very rewarding. Has anyone else started the C25K plan? I would love to hear your opinion and how it went!

I received my new Nike Free Run 3 yesterday evening and cant wait to try them next time I go out, I bought the bright pink but the colour options are endless (I love the black, Lime and grey too!) and there is something for everyone! All the reviews are raving and it seems they help your performance so bring it on week 2, I can do it!
PS: Have you seen my run board on Pinterest? It definitely motivates me, who wouldn't want such body?!

  1. I did the Plan and really liked it. You will see progress very quickly I think and that is always nice to see. Your will be shocked how fast your heart will improve and soon enough it won't pound out of your chest The body is pretty impressive that way!

  2. I also did the plan with a friend, and we ran our 5K in March! It was really nice to see results as we went from week to week. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

  3. Based off your post last week, I started back as well. Feels good to be back at it. I decided to start back with week 2, instead of one. So you and I are about on the same page! Cute shoes!!

  4. I started this program last year in July at the age of 48. I had only ever ran once before and that was in college and I hated it! The program is awesome! In October I ran a 5K. If I can do it so can you! (I still hate running and gave it up after the 5K. Just did it to prove that I could)

  9. Good for you, Helena! By putting yourself out there it kinda forces you to do it even when you don't feel like it. Smart girl. I would have bought the pink too. I started walking. Maybe I'll work up to a jog, then a run. xo

  12. I'm so impressed that you're doing this! I really need to get myself in gear. It's hard because I'm not a sporty person naturally so it really takes an effort to get to the gym. I do love how I feel once I'm there though and get into a good groove every now and again. Unfortunately with the summer and going back and forth to the beach I don't have a good schedule down yet. And this is the time that I should be motivated to be in the best shape! LOL

Maybe a pair of these babies will help motivate me. I would definitely go for the pink too :) xoxo

  14. I just bought the same "punch" Nike Frees, and I love them for running! They're my second pair of Frees and I'm just as obsessed with them as my first pair--ok, maybe even more because the color is so awesome. Everyone's feet/bodies are different, so they won't be a good fit for everyone, but they're perfect for me (and I'm currently training for my first half marathon). Just wanted to throw that out there because of EM's comment.

I'm so glad you're getting into running! I swear it saved my sanity during the difficult time of my divorce! I hope it's just as helpful for you, even if you're not going through a hard time!

  18. Cute! Keep it up -- I started running for awhile and injured my knee, but I can't encourage it enough as long as you're careful!
