Sunday Outfit

A different kind of Sunday Outfit post today, it has been raining non stop most of the weekend and I spent all of yesterday's indoors so I thought it would be fitting to take the pics inside. And in all honesty this is what I look most of the time (or worse! ha!). How has your weekend gone? Mine was lovely, caught up with friends and I finally finished the second rast hack I tackled for the living room. It turned up quite lovely, I'll show you tomorrow!

What to read?

Wel lovelies, today I need your opinion, again. I just finished reading the 50 Shades Grey trilogy (and yes I absolutely recommend it if you are up to it) and i am now on the lookout for something new, something that will grip me and make me want to read more. Because, this is the only way I love reading, when I can't put the story down. So please do recommend, what should I read next? Beautiful image by Jane Mount
Have a fabulous weekend friends!

**If Beth Murray (from London who used to work near the Barbican) reads this, please email me again, I got your OoO xx

Ideal Closet

I'm so tired of the weather in London! Yesterday was crazy, I think it stopped pouring down for about 30 minutes max! I can't wait for warmer days, full of light and lovely outfits. Flirty simple blouses paired with funky patterned jeans and even funkier platform sandals, what do you think? Are these a must or not? I used to have a pair of platform Superga trainers and loved them, of course that was about 15 years ago, go figure! Anyhow, these sandals from Madewell caught my eye, might be my edgy self!

Wedding Wednesday: Romance in Athens

In such a gloom day this mediterranean wedding is a breath of fresh air and glorious light. The wedding was fully organised by luxurious wedding planners Elite Events Athens and was held in Athens in a breath taking location, Island. I love the all white decor which contrasts beautifully with the blue mediterranean background. Another fave element is the sweets table, in Greece it is traditional to give to your guest koufeta, sugar coated almonds, and the table has been beautifully decorated with jars full of goodies and flavoured koufeta, could it be any prettier?

STUNNING couple too! I love that the bride pulled her hair up and added a funky really pretty necklace to spice up her jaw dropping dress (I think it's Oscar de la Renta, SWOON!)

Neom Organics heavenly world

I'm a beauty junkie, well at least for my standards. I love trying new products and I love pretty packaging so I was delighted to discover and try one of the gorgeous Neom Organics candles. Neom Organics is renowned for the luxurious home candles and body products and they didn't fail me, I picked the Tranquility one,a very sensual but relaxing combination of english lavender, sweet basil and jasmine. Within minutes the whole bedroom and most of the apartment was smelling beautifully.

Neom Organics' candles are made using vegetable oils and pure essentials oils and there's no nasty synthetic fragrances. They are not cheap cheap, but a standard candle has 3 wicks and burn for about 50 hours which apparently is 30% more than other candles in the same category, so not bad at all!

I would also love to try their bath and shower oils, they come in several scents and the bottle is way so decadent, I-LOVE! they have done a beautiful branding job.
What about you? Are you familiar with Neom Oganics? Do you have a fave you think I should definitely try?
*the candle was a gift by the Neom PR lovely people, but opinions are as always my own.

Sunday Outfit

I'm so happy I managed to snatch these pants from H&M last week. I blogged about them a couple of weeks ago and since then I was planning to get them online until they sold out, dang! But I was lucky and got the last pair in my local store and I couldn't be happier. They go with lots of colours and have a lovely fit, and a super price! What did you get up this weekend? Mine was pretty easy going, we watched football (I kind of watched it!) cooked, and started my new Ikea rast hack, inspired by these colours. Can't wait to show you when it's done!

Kate Collins

I love love finding new inspiration. I was looking at Dorothy Drapers España chest and I came across Kate Collin's blog and thus design portfolio and oh boy, I'm happy I did! Below are some pics of her old apartment, the use of colours is so bold and smart I'm utterly jealous! My fave bit (besides all that light flowing int he living room!) is the super cute bedroom! The tiny desk is a must! You can read more about it and get all the sources in this post on Kate's blog.

Have a great weekend! Im going to tackle a new Ikea rast hack, for the living room this time, wish me luck!!!

Ideal Closet

Swoon, I wish the weather in London was fit for this outfit, I just love it. I was inspired by all the celebs hitting Coachella this past weekend. Emma Watson was wearing these flats and I loved them. They would normally not be my kind of flat sandal but they drew my attention with the beautiful laser-like cut outs. The Mulberry little big has stolen my heart too and is high on my wish list, ooooh to dream! Isn't this the perfect outfit for a park stroll?

Wedding Wednesday: a Valentino bow

There are some classic wedding shoes, the ones you see all around. It might be because they are trendy, or maybe because they are just incredibly gorgeous. This has to be the case with the Valentino d'Orsay pumps. They add a super lovely detail to a simple yet super elegant shoe. Peep toe and super huge bow? Oh yes!!
There's several models, some of my faves are here, here and here.
SO, do share, what is your ideal wedding shoe?

Sunday Outfit

Happy new week lovelies! How have you been? I feel I have been really MIA lately from the whole blogging world and I can only apologise. I thought I would have had more time these last days to catch up on your blogs but alas I had too much time relaxing! I'm flying back to London today and back to normality from tomorrow. I can't believe it's time to go back to work! I have been wearing this super bold shirt quite a lot lately, love how much fun it is and how I can wear it pretty much everywhere!

Guest Post: My Paradissi

Please welcome the lovely Eleni, from Crete in Greece and My Paradissi sharing a bit of her beautiful blog here while I'm celebrating Greek Easter in Corfu.
S'eyxaristo Eleni mou!
PS: Have a lovely weekend loves! xo
***
Hello dear A Diary of Lovely readers! My name is Eleni and I blog from My Paradissi. I'm so thrilled to be guest posting at Helena's place while she's enjoying some time off under the Greek sun.
So, I'm officially counting down to summer (Easter holidays are my milestone for that) and
daydreaming my forthcoming vacations (ecstatic hurray!). I might be living in an island already (Crete that is) but visiting a few others around the Aegean sea is definitely not bad idea whatsoever. Be surrounded by organic white forms and pops of bold hues, deep blue waters and skies and a cooling sea breeze to make the hot hot summer temperatures a tad tolerable sound like a great summer plan, don't you think?
And then, I get to my inspirational folders and drool over the photos and keep saying to myself that summer is not that far indeed..

Thank you for your time and, Helena, thank you, thank you and a big hug!
I'd love you come over at My Paradissi and say hi ☺.

Ideal Closet

This is one of these dresses that can quickly become a wardrobe staple, a "hero" piece for spring. It's simple enough to avoid being class as over the top but with the right accessories can be a head turner. The colour is yummy, and goes with pretty much everything. I'm loving the idea of fun but classy accesories like the white leather bag, and gold necklace paired with funkier elements like the red sunglasses! I think I need these! SO much fun!

Wedding Wednesday: London calling invitation suite

This has to be one of the cutest wedding invite suites ever, I not only love the London theme but also the most lovely quote ever "ridiculous amounts of joy to follow". Oh yes, that's what a wedding celebration should be about! I saw it on Pinterest, it's by La Belle Vie Design (has some really gorge stuff!) and knew I had to share, the colors and motifs are so so London and the typography is just glorious!

Sunday Outfit

Well hello lovelies! Apologies for being MIA yesterday but it was  along weekend in the UK and I thought it would be a good opportunity to take a small blog break. And it was lovely. I read non stop, met friends, relaxed and all in all it couldn't get much better. Four days weekends have to be the best, and especially when they don't end, we are flying to Greece in some hours so bring it on (it's Greek Easter next weekend)! Unfortunately the weather is not going to be amazing but nonetheless a break is always a good break. I'll be blogging more or less normally this week and I look forward to catching up on all your blogs! Have a great week!

PS: I'm wearing my new flowered Leigh jeans from Topshop. Hard to beat jeans, especially at their price, you must check them out as they come in an array of lovely colors!

It's about a giraffe

This is a bit of a spot the difference post, or spot the similarity! And what is it? Yes, the massive giraffe! How cute is she? She is popping in all these super cool nurseries to add a fun and child friendly element. I love nurseries, but I have felt that lately they are becoming another room to dress and impress if you know what I mean. These giraffes make everything a bit more playful and fun.

Have a great Easter weekend lovelies! What are your plans? We are staying in London, seeing friends, visiting Ikea, building a new set of Rast hacks and generally taking it easy. On Tuesday we are flying to Corfu, where N is from, to spend the Greek Easter week with his family, should be a nice little break. I will be blogging as usual, so see you on Tuesday (no Monday post) xoxo

Ideal Closet

One of my faves outfits once again, I'm in absolute LOVE with these trousers, they are fun, yet sophisticated. Would look great with flats or with killer heels and the combo of flowers and cheetah is somehow unexpected but works so well. What do you think, would you dare wearing such striking prints together?

Wedding Wednesday: The Hunger Games

If you follow me on Twitter and read my Monday post you must know by now that I'm obsessed with The Hunger Games. How an almost 30 year old can get obsessed with all YA novels is beyond me but yep it happened AGAIN! Anyway, the point is that Wedding Wednesday is today dedicated to The Hunger Games and to 3 lovely styled shoots. I love how these wedding professionals interpreted what Katniss and Peeta's wedding would be like.
The first one is by Courtney Clarke Photography and the cake by Oh La La Cupcakes is incredibly gorgeous, I love the intricate details and the arrows at the top.

This one has the most original bouquet made from arrows and gold hearts. Cute! Style by Kellie Ann Events and Weddings and photography is by Megan Christine Photography. The paper goods are by One Handspun Day, I love the use of watercolor.

The last one is by Lindye Galloway and photography by Ashley Photography. My favourite part? The ceremony setting and the gold origami paper cranes, symbolising what else, the Mockingjay.

On a completely random note, I made this tart yesterday, and it was utterly delicious, if you are looking for something simple and really yummy try it! I first saw it on Bonnie's blog and it's by the one and only Pioneer Woman
