Last week I said it, I'm loving the long communal tables at weddings. Im bored of round 10 a table settings. This is fresh, fun, maybe not super original but still kind of exciting! I love the idea of a big communal dinner under the star where even though you might to be able to speak to more than 10 people anyway it feels more approachable. Would you go for this kind of setting, for the married ladies out there, did you do it?

i am absolutely obsessed with long tables at weddings! I definitely want that at mine one day!

Stunning photos! I love long tables as well but opted for round ones for easier conversation (one thing that we did is sat at a round "normal" table ourselves rather than having the long "head table" that a lot of people have where the bride and groom face out into the room).
ReplyDeleteLong tables are more fun (and stylish), maybe they're not that practical but who cares? The point in a wedding is to have fun and enjoy the day!

i LOVE the look of a long communal table that stretches on and on with fabulous centrepieces. The photos you posted are great!
ReplyDeleteI agree -- it's such a fun idea and I think it makes for really stunning photos too!

The ones sitting at the ends are the "forever alone"s then or the ex's / secret lovers of the newly weds!
ReplyDeleteI would not do it. I would not arrange tables for groups, groups of friends, they should be free to sit anywhere they like with anyone they like.
You may not know what's going on between people (as you might be busy with the arrangements!!) and you might be forcing them to eat with people they dont like. Think about it!
WOW I would certainly do that- it looks so ethereal and fresh!

We had long tables at our wedding, and no seating plan. People sat where they wanted, and it was very jolly and sociable.
ReplyDeletelove the first photo!

These tables are divine! Once a young bride, I did have a very long wedding table set in the ruins of a 13th century chateau, all lit by candlelights...
ReplyDeleteI love the look of this set up, seems to be a new trend! xo
ReplyDeleteI love the way long tables look - I would definitely go with no assigned seats if I did this though!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Especially the image of the winding table with twinkling lights overhead.
ReplyDeleteWow, great tables. Yes, I agree, I looove the look of one long table. We chose a bunch of smaller tables, but that was mostly a space issue. Totally lusting after those lucite chairs.
ReplyDeleteoh i love these! the only trick would be making sure the table was narrow enough that you could talk across the table easily... loving the hanging jars above the table too. so gorgeous.
