This post was supposed to be about open shelves in the kitchen, oh how I love them! But while doing a bit of image research I came across a common denominator I felt in love. White tile and back splashes. I haven't had tile in the kitchen for a long while now and I think I miss it, it adds an understated kitchen elegance and makes the kitchen a more welcoming and useful place. And the combination between tiles and open shelving makes it even better, if at all possible! What is the one thing you dream of in a kitchen?

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the white tiling with the open shelves as well! What I really love is open shelving with cookbooks in the kitchen. For some reason I'm obsessed with that, it really appeals to me. Like a little cookbook library in the kitchen! I love #4, that is my dream kitchen.

I both LOVE and hate looking at these posts, they make me drool with envy and wish i could decorate my rented house! I don' think there's anything more beautiful than a stunning white brick tiled kitchen! makes me think of cocktails round the table with old friends on a late Sunday evening!

ReplyDeleteThere is nothing I love more for a kitchen than the clean, crisp look, which is only perfectly achieved by white subway tiles. I'm not sure I could pull off open shelves. Definitely not organized enough!

We put these in in the kitchen in our flat, i was so sad when we had to leave them when we moved. We're going to replace the ones in our kitchen with these as soon as we find time!

Very nice, Helena! I really like the kitchen shown in image no.05 especially... as for myself, I crave a kitchen that is cozy and warm, yet slightly modern, with a grand, elaborate mirror in gold :)
