And the food

As promised here is the yummy Greek post. Greece is famed for its food and very very rightly! Here are some of the delicious meals I enjoyed while on holiday.

The traditional Greek salad, tomatoes, cucumber, black olives, green peppers and onions
Olive oil and oregano

Very tiny prawns. Delicious and so unique

Tyropitakia, cheese parcels, rolled in fyllo pastry

Calamari with potatoes

Sofrito, a Corfu speciality

A Surprise... open...

and open...

and discover a delicious Arni Kleftiko, oven baked lamb

My giagia's (grandma) amazing stuffed zuchini flowers. To die for!

And finally, loukoumades with chocolate, fluffy and airy with melted chocolate.Yummy

  28. Mmmmm, you're making me miss Greece! Where in the mountains is your grandmother from? My aunt has a summer home in Goumenisa too (and a flat in Thessaloniki). Fun!

I've never had stuffed zuchinni flowers in Greece. I thought that was mainly an Italian dish. What are they stuffed with?

  29. When I pulled up your post from yesterday I knew immediately that you were in Greece. Just from the pictures in between the streets.

This food looks amazing! When I was there, I think I had oven baked goat, not lamb, but it was delish. I could seriously stuff my face on all of this right now!! So jealous!!

  34. Hope you're having a wonderful time!! I love Greece - we traveled around the island Paros a few years ago! Delicious food, though I couldn't find a gyro in sight which I think is so funny (ethnic food here in America is never the same as abroad!) :).

  38. I am OBSESSED with Greek food, so naturally I enjoyed this post immensely! Our neighbor is from Greece and he is so kind & generous and is constantly buying us all kinds of delicious things from the Greek Market and sharing his secrets on how to cook authentic Greek cuisine. It's amazing! Sounds like you had a great time, Helena!
